Foundations for Literacy is a cross-platform curriculum delivery system developed using React Native and NodeJS. We are working with the creators of the Foundations for Literacy Curriculum to update art, make curriculum activities more interactive, and package it all in a content-delivery app. The app includes a teacher portal which allows teachers to browse the curriculum, start a particular activity for students on their own tablets, and monitor student progress.
My role as the project manager and lead Front-end developer involved planning and implementation of the user interface. I created the original wire frames for the application. I had to figure out the most logical way to design the application that would not inhibit the teachers ability to teach, while at the same time, reducing clutter to ensure a better teaching experience overall. On the project manager side I designed a road map with the other PM's that would ensure timely delivery of the application to the clients. I then met with the developers on my team weekly to ensure that all tasks were on time.
